I have a set of leather die punches in different shapes and I blunted one of the circular ones years ago by hitting it through leather into a surface that was too hard.
I kept it because I didn't want a gap in the set though I had no idea how to sharpen it again.
I've since learned a lot about sharpening and I keep things pretty keen in my workshop but I finally figured out that I can ... just chuck this into the lathe and sharpen it with some carbide and then a honing pass on sandpaper. Good as new! Well not quite, but good.
ttw seems stable, yay! I've bought all the parts that I think I need for tilde.town to move to Colocataires and the response has been so positive. Also, ~town will be Colocataires first paying customer which is a huge deal. One step closer to making this a sustainable thing.
I'm giving up white.h.insm.cf as the donor case and motherboard for tilde.town, so I've move a bunch of services to the rack-mounted Raspberry Pi 400 that I built, and moved my remote desktop VM to one running on box (although this is probably silly: I could just remote into box?).
box (my desktop) has had recurring issues with its Intel NIC hanging and requiring a reboot. I've had enough so I ordered a low-profile gigabit NIC to go in one of the PCIe slots. So far, that has been stable. The same R8111-based NIC has gone into the new tilde.town box (that box has an embarassing 100Mbit/s network port?!?).
I'm looking at VictoriaMetrics instead of Prometheus, by popular demand (one person). And thinking about how to make metrics multi-tenant for Colocataires.
Not a lot of video games lately! That's a shame. Still quite a bit of Millenium (1996) which is just the right amount of nostalgia. Thanks, Internet Archive.
Work is going well and I think I'll spend Easter Monday trying a big refactor. Like; not succeeding, but just smashing two things together and seeing just how bad the breakage is.
I voted in the federal election for the first time. It was advance voting and I had to hand my ballot back to a person to have a perferation taken off before pushing it into the slot. I do not like the idea of someone else touching my ballot when it's filled in, tbh.
