Talking to people and doing some self-contained Python stuff just in Helix with no external libraries. It was nice! On one machine I had a nice LSP experience and then on another (for reasons I later figured out) no language server and I wrote similar programs -- bit night and day, really! It's nice to remove that moment when you run your program for the first time and hit two (or three, or four) silly syntax errors because nothing was checking your code as you went. Humans aren't perfect, after all.
First decent length bike ride this season: over to a friend's house up some reasonably steep hills. A good test of gearing as well as braking (respectively). I'm very happy with my one-by conversion and the friction shifter that I replaced everything with (and consequently new grips that I made room for).
I had to do screen sharing on my personal laptop so I turned the GPU accelleration back on but the next time it crashes it's getting disabled again. The magic, in /etc/default/grub is:
GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i915.enable_guc=0"
It's not technical but I am recovering from oral surgery -- it means I can't cycle, lift stuff or eat solids for a while, so I've been able to spend some quite chill time on the computer. I've not felt guilty about anything else that I should be doing because I'm not really capable of doing much else right now.
