Days and Weeks

2025–W23 #

• Framework arrived and I built it. Love it. I will say, taking it out of the box was probably more steps than putting it together. The "DIY" part of it feels a little IKEA-effect, but given that they sell all the spares, I at least know it can be kept in service.
• Put trixie and GNOME+Wayland on it, so I've switched back to GNOME+Wayland on my desktop too.
  • cwm on a blue background had a bit of that sympathetic magic I'll miss, but on a laptop it's nice if waking / sleeping and attaching screens all works.
• Found the keybindings part of dconf so I should add that to my dotfiles.
• CoC is so often broken I should remove it from dotfiles; I often locally disable it. Let's just bin it.
• Good week at work so far: helped fix a thing, decent progress on my own thing.
• Vacation coming up sooner than I thought, and a second vacation after that (tacked on to my trip to Belfast). I might be getting the hang of taking time off.
• Added PicoCSS to the admin for Pymesheet. It's okay.
• Set up my Tesla M4 in box for Ollama (and limited ComfyUI). It's okay.
  • Passively cooled, which is nice -- as there's no extra fan -- but also it means my actual case fan has to do a bit more work and once it gets hot it takes quite a while to cool down.
