2025–W24 #
- Drew a character sheet for D&D in Inkscape with just the stuff I want on it
- D&D Beyond makes it a 6 page affair, now I'm down to 2 (and they could be two sides of one sheet)
- Wrote some Ansible today with Copilot switched on (more or less by accident) -- it's autocompletes are tempting when you're writing such boilerplate. But I can also see how it's almost correct; something which is a little extra dangerous in Ansible compared to compiled code.
- Playing "Lorelei and the Laser Eyes" as a family. It's good. Puzzles have pulled us all in and we've gathered enough clues that we're getting those hits of dopamine solving things. Love that things like this can get made.
- Last week before vacation but it's extra busy: two evenings of Colocataires stuff and two social meet-ups (on top of what looks like it will be a pretty full work-week).
- Sharpened the lawnmower blades with an angle grinder. Is that good technique? Dunno, but otherwise they were probably going to stay blunt.
- Enjoying 2020's "The Stand". That show either had the worst timing or the best timing coming out so near the height of the pandemic.
- Set up Uptime Kuma, Prometheus and Grafana locally, including with PocketID auth -- a dry run ahead of Colocataires.
- Actually quite enjoying Jenkins as a CI server. A palate cleanser compared to GitHub Actions. It's a funny thing, when the thing we called "too complicated" gets abandoned for simple tools -- that themselves get very complicated, very fast and outpace the thing that people were trying to get away from. Makes you think!
- I will have to fix or replace a condensate pump line soon. Not looking forward to that and discovering that I needed too wasn't too pleasant either.
