Very tired from work. Work is tiring. It's good, and I'm learning and I'm getting to do cool stuff, but still.
I skipped BSDCan despite buying a ticket and sponsoring the coffee. Sad. But I went to hang out with former colleagues while we wanted for one of their laptops to lock. (It didn't, which was humorous; still was a nice thought).
I started replacing raw, my kind of "lynch-pin" Debian VM with a new machine on Alpine, poppy. I'm currently using Stalwart for some email domains that I would prefer actually be hosted directly on, like, Exim + Dovecot. That's how my brother's email is hosted and while it's got downsides, it's very transparent how it's working.
I still love Migadu.com, but the simple fact that their servers are in .ch makes them slow to use from this side of the Atlantic and it's an irritant. I didn't actually realize how bad this was until I connected aerc to some email hosted nearby and it's so, so much more pleasant to use.
Also I'm self-hosting DNS. It's actually quite a pain to move your DNS servers and also need to request new ACME certs. In some ways the "old ways" of doing things (copying around PEM files) was slightly easier (for this one thing: I don't want to go back).
Finished building up my bike and the brakes still suck! All this effort! I need to do a bunny-hop to stop properly. Argh.
